The company is pioneering a new approach to rocket manufacturing using 3D printing and advanced manufacturing techniques.
The Engine Manufacturing team is dedicated to delivering high-performance engines and advancing innovative manufacturing systems that continuously improve cost, quality, and lead time. The team has successfully developed and refined processes for initial development engines and is now focused on producing flight engines at rate for Terran R's aggressive launch manifest.
As a Senior Manufacturing Engineer for Turbomachinery, you will own the manufacturing trades and develop processes for fabricating, testing, and delivering critical Aeon-R hardware and subassemblies. You will produce components and assemblies for the fuel and oxidizer turbopumps of the Aeon-R and Aeon-R Vac engines. You will serve as the main point-of-contact between the manufacturing and design teams as the company optimizes Aeon-R architecture and scales manufacturing operations.
You will thrive in ambiguity and drive your own projects to completion, working through challenging issues unique to rocket turbopumps and additively manufactured hardware. You will work at the interfaces of design, development, and analysis of turbomachinery, collaborating effectively with multidisciplinary groups across propulsion, manufacturing, software, avionics, and corporate functions.
Required qualifications include a degree in engineering or related technical field with 5+ years of relevant experience. You should have experience with turbopump assembly procedures, including rotor balancing, interference fits, clearance checks, structural proofing, and leak checks. Manufacturing process experience in fluids testing, machining, and additive manufacturing is essential. Ideally, you come from a fast-paced aerospace environment and have completed difficult projects while collaborating effectively across teams.
