Antares is building mass-producible, inherently safe, deployable microreactors for terrestrial, underwater, and space applications, with a mission to make clean energy abundant from Earth to the Asteroid Belt. The company has raised over $600M in venture capital and holds hundreds of millions in contracts with military services, NASA, and the Department of Energy. The team includes veterans from SpaceX, the White House, Pentagon, Department of Energy, MIT, and national laboratories.
As an early member of the supply chain team, you will define and execute the strategic roadmap required to scale from prototyping into full-rate production. You will identify, qualify, and develop suppliers across multiple commodities including machined components, electromechanical systems, controls, shielding, thermal management, and turbomachinery. You will proactively mature fragile or nonexistent supply chains, interface with engineering teams on design for manufacturability, and create processes and systems to support scaling.
Key responsibilities include:
- Define strategic roadmaps for select commodities
- Identify and onboard suppliers to build a mature supply base for prototyping and full-rate production
- Engage with responsible and manufacturing engineering teams on design for manufacturing feedback
- Coordinate with quality teams on supplier onboarding, compliance, and nonconformance resolution
- Direct make-versus-buy decisions considering design feedback, product function, capital investment, and manufacturing methods
- Create bottoms-up should-cost analyses for commercial negotiations and supplier evaluation
- Develop performance metrics and reporting for critical path management
- Execute near-term actions for prototyping and development hardware to meet engineering and testing milestones
The role offers the opportunity to wear many hats and influence areas beyond supply chain in a growing, ambitious organization tackling complex challenges in an ambiguous environment.
The facility is located in Torrance, CA in a 322,000 square foot, brand new facility with large open spaces for collaboration, R&D, and production, with easy freeway access.
