Pacific Fusion, founded in 2023 and backed by over $900M in funding, is building pulser-driven inertial fusion systems to achieve net facility gain and deliver abundant, affordable, clean energy. This Senior Manufacturing Engineer role is critical to transitioning prototype components into production for the company's pulser systems.
You will own end-to-end manufacturing processes for pulser module assembly, from work instruction development through build completion and acceptance. Key responsibilities include managing the transition of new electrical components from design and prototyping into full-scale production; working alongside technicians to provide fast solutions that keep builds progressing; and supporting documentation handoff to the production team.
You will manage build schedules using Microsoft Project, partner with design engineering to provide manufacturing feedback and drive design-for-manufacturability (DFM) improvements, and support first-article builds. You'll identify and resolve production non-conformances through root cause analysis and corrective action implementation. You will define and develop tooling, fixtures, and equipment requirements to support safe, efficient, and repeatable assembly operations.
Additionally, you will track and report production metrics—cycle time, yield, first-pass rate—and drive initiatives to hit and exceed targets. You'll support the scale-up of assembly operations as Pacific Fusion transitions from low-rate initial production to higher-volume output, and clearly define steps to completion for schedule management.
You bring 3–7 years of manufacturing or process engineering experience in hands-on production environments, with demonstrated experience leading or mentoring technicians on a production floor. Experience with electrical assembly, complex systems integration, and NPI (new product introduction) processes is expected. You are detail-oriented, proactive in problem-solving, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, ambitious hard-tech environment.
