Anduril Industries is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to lead the manufacturing development of energetic payloads for next-generation Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUVs) in our Quincy, MA facility. This role sits at the intersection of advanced defense technology and subsea robotics, where you'll own the complete manufacturing lifecycle for maritime munition products.
You will lead the New Product Introduction (NPI) process for a suite of energetics-based maritime systems, collaborating closely with energetics and product engineering teams to embed Design for Manufacturability (DFM) principles into munition system design—including sensors, payload interfaces, electronics, fuses, and effectors. Your responsibilities span tool design and selection, end-to-end production process development and optimization, supplier capability management, quality planning, and comprehensive work documentation.
Key accountabilities include developing and optimizing production processes to meet capacity, reliability, and safety targets; overseeing external explosive and subsea service providers on outsourced assembly and test operations; generating and refining Bills of Process (BOP), Master BOMs, MES routings, and work instructions; and project managing production milestones from test validation through equipment bring-up, delivery, and sustainment. You'll employ LEAN manufacturing and statistical methods to continuously improve processes and eliminate defects, create control plans based on DFMEA and PFMEA analysis, and coordinate across EHS, Quality, Logistics, Supply Chain, and Deployment teams.
Required: BS or higher in electrical, mechanical, aerospace, or related engineering discipline; 5+ years in manufacturing or electromechanical hardware design; demonstrated ability to deliver complex hardware in fast-paced environments; strong mission focus; up to 50% domestic travel; eligibility for active U.S. Secret security clearance.
Preferred: maritime robotics experience (AUVs, UUVs, USVs); familiarity with MIL-STD standards (1316, 882E, 1901, 2105); test experience with data acquisition and analysis; pressure vessel and industrial pressure test equipment experience; proficiency with JIRA, Siemens NX, Teamcenter, or Oracle; explosive operations and munitions handling background; DoD Weapons Safety Board experience.
