Salary: USD 146,000 - 194,000 / annual
Anduril Industries, a defense technology company, is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to join the Electronic Warfare (EW) Manufacturing team in Irvine, California. The EW Manufacturing Team is responsible for rapidly iterating and building cutting-edge defense hardware for electromagnetic warfare applications.
In this role, you will own a portion or all of the manufacturing value chain, including Assembly, Integration & Test (AI&T) for electro-mechanical assemblies. You will drive process improvements, ensure highest quality production standards, and support development and implementation of new products. Key responsibilities include:
- Owning manufacturing value chain segments including AI&T for electro-mechanical assemblies
- Contributing to operational excellence through continuous improvement and leading Kaizen events
- Partnering with Product Quality Engineering to drive root cause corrective action (RCCA) burndowns
- Collaborating with Design Engineering teams across development phases to provide Design for Manufacturability (DFx) guidance
- Developing process flows and breaking down complex assemblies into logical sub-assemblies and sub-processes
- Creating manufacturing documentation including work instructions, quality plans, and inspection requirements
- Working with contract manufacturers (PCBA fab, metallic manufacturing, assembly) to develop repeatable processes for both quick-turn development and at-scale production
- Hands-on collaboration with technicians and engineers on prototype hardware
- Contributing to end-customer hardware mechanical and electrical design, including interconnects and board fabrication
Required qualifications include 8+ years of experience in manufacturing or design of electromechanical hardware, a technical degree (engineering, math, or hard science preferred), demonstrated ability to deliver hardware in resource-constrained environments, and personal hands-on manufacturing experience (machining, fabrication, soldering, assembly). Experience with JIRA, Siemens NX, Teamcenter (PLM), or Oracle (ERP) is required. Must be a U.S. Person due to access to export-controlled information.
Preferred qualifications include experience with RF products requiring system AI&T, exposure to scaling product testing and production, hands-on experience with software/firmware flashing or end-of-line testing, software scripting experience, and current active U.S. Secret security clearance.
