Anduril Industries, a defense technology company, is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to join the Electromagnetic Warfare (EW) Manufacturing team in Irvine, California. The EW Manufacturing Team is responsible for rapidly iterating and building cutting-edge defense hardware, with responsibilities spanning the entire manufacturing value chain including design for manufacturability, tool design and selection, process creation and optimization, vendor sourcing, quality planning, and work documentation.
In this role, you will own a portion or all of the manufacturing value chain for electro-mechanical assemblies, including Assembly, Integration & Test (AI&T). Key responsibilities include driving process improvements and operational excellence through continuous improvement and Kaizen events; partnering with Product Quality Engineering on root cause corrective action (RCCA) burndowns; collaborating with Design Engineering teams during early to late development phases to provide design-for-manufacturability (DFx) guidance; developing process flows for complex assemblies; writing manufacturing documentation such as work instructions, quality plans, and inspection requirements; working with contract manufacturers across disciplines (PCBA fab, metallic manufacturing, assembly) to develop repeatable processes for both quick-turn development and at-scale production; working hands-on with technicians and engineers to build prototype hardware; and contributing to end-customer hardware mechanical or electrical design including interconnects and board fabrication.
Required qualifications include a degree in a technical field (engineering, math, or hard science preferred); 8+ years of experience in manufacturing or design of electromechanical hardware; demonstrated ability to creatively deliver electromechanical hardware in resource-constrained environments; personal hands-on experience physically manufacturing hardware (machining, fabrication, soldering, assembly); prior experience with JIRA, Siemens NX, Teamcenter (PLM), or Oracle (ERP) or equivalents; experience with RF products requiring system AI&T; and eligibility to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.
