Anduril Industries, a defense technology company, is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to join the Electromagnetic Warfare (EW) Manufacturing team in Irvine, California. The role focuses on rapidly iterating and building cutting-edge defense hardware, with responsibility across the entire manufacturing value chain including design for manufacturability, tool design and selection, process creation and optimization, vendor sourcing, quality planning, and work documentation.
Key responsibilities include owning portions of the manufacturing value chain for electro-mechanical assemblies, particularly Assembly, Integration & Test (AI&T) operations. You will drive process improvements and operational excellence through continuous improvement initiatives and Kaizen events. The role requires close collaboration with Product Quality Engineering on root cause corrective action (RCCA) burndowns, working with Design Engineering teams during product development phases to ensure manufacturability, and developing comprehensive process flows for complex assemblies.
You will create detailed documentation including work instructions, quality plans, and inspection requirements for scaled manufacturing. The position involves hands-on collaboration with contract manufacturers across PCBA fabrication, metallic manufacturing, and assembly disciplines, as well as direct work with technicians and engineers on prototype hardware development. You may also contribute to end-customer hardware mechanical or electrical design, including interconnects and board fabrication.
Required qualifications include 8+ years of experience in manufacturing or design of electromechanical hardware, a technical degree (engineering, math, or hard science preferred), and demonstrated ability to deliver hardware in resource-constrained environments. Personal hands-on manufacturing experience (machining, fabrication, soldering, assembly) is essential. Familiarity with tools like JIRA, Siemens NX, Teamcenter PLM, or Oracle ERP is required. Experience with RF products requiring system AI&T and eligibility for U.S. Secret security clearance are mandatory.
