Anduril Industries, a defense technology company, is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to join its Composites branch in Morrisville, North Carolina. This role supports the rapid iteration and production of cutting-edge composite parts and assemblies for multiple business lines, including UAV platforms ranging from Group 1 to XL-class systems. You will own the manufacturing engineering lifecycle across the value chain: MBOM management, work instruction creation, design for manufacturability analysis, work cell optimization, tool design and selection, process creation and optimization, vendor sourcing, quality planning, and technical documentation. Working hands-on with technicians and cross-functional teams (Design, Quality, Program Management, Supply Chain), you will guide novel product designs from initial concept through manufacturing release, ensuring designs are optimized for composite production methods before formal release. Key responsibilities include creating and releasing manufacturing documentation (work instructions, MBOMs, quality plans, inspection requirements); driving initial builds of composite components and tooling; identifying and solving manufacturing problems in schedule-driven environments; developing processes to transition products from prototype/LRIP to full-rate production; and leading root-cause corrective actions to eliminate production blockers. Required: Bachelor's degree in engineering or technology; 5+ years composite manufacturing experience in development environments; hands-on knowledge of filament winding, autoclave processing, VARTM, prepregs, and hydraulic press processing; ability to read engineering drawings and GD&T; CAD/CAM proficiency (NX preferred); demonstrated team leadership; local availability in Morrisville, NC; and eligibility for U.S. TS clearance. Preferred: aerospace, defense, automotive, or energetics facility experience; AS9100/NADCAP accreditation familiarity; TeamCenter proficiency; experience leading cross-functional engineering teams; bonded/fastened assembly knowledge; and CNC machining understanding.
