Anduril Industries, a defense technology company, is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to join its Manufacturing team in McHenry, Mississippi. The role focuses on rapidly iterating and building cutting-edge defense hardware, specifically solid fuel rocket motors, with responsibility across the entire manufacturing value chain. Key responsibilities include leading the development and implementation of complex manufacturing processes from concept through design, developing novel processing solutions for high-volume assembly of solid fuel rocket motors, and establishing engineering standards and best practices. The engineer will independently evaluate and recommend significant capital equipment with ROI analysis, manage CapEx projects from concept to implementation, and control project budgets of significant scale with on-time and on-budget delivery. The role requires developing process flows that simplify complex and critical operations while maintaining high levels of safety and quality. You will write comprehensive documentation including work instructions, quality plans, and inspection requirements. Collaboration is essential—working with contract manufacturers across various disciplines to develop repeatable, sustained processes for both quick-turn development and at-scale production, as well as working hands-on with technicians and other engineers to develop production-ready processes. Additional responsibilities include mentoring and guiding new engineers, managing and optimizing established full-rate production processes, communicating complex technical concepts across all organizational levels, and traveling to suppliers for sourcing work, troubleshooting production issues, and implementing quality procedures. Required qualifications include a degree in a technical field (engineering, math, or hard science), 10+ years of experience in manufacturing or product processing, demonstrated ability to deliver processes and products on time safely, continuous improvement and process development skills, and personal hands-on experience physically manufacturing hardware. U.S. Person status is required due to access to export-controlled data. Preferred qualifications include high-rate production experience in safety-critical industries, hands-on experience with solid fuel rocket motors, new product development experience, factory commissioning experience, and demonstrated experience with large and complex CapEx projects.
