Amperesand is reinventing power infrastructure for a new era of energy abundance. The company has developed intelligent, software-defined power infrastructure products based on a decade of advanced medium voltage Solid State Transformer research, now ready for commercial deployment. These products are faster to deploy, dramatically smaller and more efficient, and capable of supporting modern, dynamic energy needs for tomorrow's most demanding energy consumers.
Amperesand is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to lead the design and development of advanced automation equipment and assembly lines as the company scales its hardware product portfolio. This role offers a rare opportunity to influence product design from its earliest stages while being deeply embedded in both product and manufacturing development.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for X (DFx) initiatives focused on assembly, quality, and reliability
- Lead and implement robust manufacturing processes, including process sequencing, critical parameter development, and assembly recipes
- Drive cross-functional initiatives to bring innovative hardware solutions from concept through to full-scale production
- Collaborate closely with controls, mechanical, and electrical design teams to implement robust machine and process architecture
- Develop scalable in-house advanced manufacturing capability to meet timeline and quality expectations for infrastructure customers globally
The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in manufacturing engineering, process development, and automation design. This is a hands-on role at a venture-backed hardware company with hubs in San Francisco, Reno, and Singapore, led by breakthrough energy hardware development veterans.
