Amca is building America's advanced industrial manufacturing base, operating seven factories nationwide to produce critical aerospace and defense components. The company delivers avionics, hydraulic, and electrical subsystems for platforms including the F-35, F-16, F/A-18, 737MAX, 787, A320neo, and M1 Abrams.
As Senior Manufacturing Engineer, you will be the technical backbone of the growth and bid process. You own bill of materials (BOM) costing, run comparative analysis across designs and suppliers, and serve as the technical point of contact for post-award execution. Your core responsibilities include breaking down engineering drawings and requirements into complete, accurate BOMs; building and refining should-cost models to support competitive, margin-accurate bids; and running comparative analysis across design approaches, materials, processes, and suppliers to identify the lowest-risk, lowest-cost manufacturing path.
You will read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and military/aerospace specifications to assess manufacturability and fit with Amca's factory capabilities. You'll produce CAD as needed to support costing, feasibility, and technical analysis. You serve as the technical bridge between business operations and factory engineering teams, collaborating to validate production approaches, lead times, and tooling requirements before bid submission.
Additional responsibilities include making go/no-go recommendations based on technical feasibility, capacity, risk, and strategic fit; building and maintaining a working knowledge map of Amca factory capabilities (equipment, certifications, materials expertise, capacity constraints); identifying capability gaps and recommending capital investments or supplier partnerships; and staying current on industry standards (AS9100, NADCAP, MIL-SPEC), manufacturing technology, and DLA procurement policy.
You do not need to be a design engineer. What matters is that you can take a set of drawings and requirements, understand what it takes to build the hardware, and translate that into accurate cost and sound technical recommendations.
