Archer Technologies is an aerospace company building all-electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft for sustainable air mobility. As a Senior Manufacturing Design Engineer focused on Methods and Standards, you will bridge aircraft design and production by developing and maintaining standardized manufacturing engineering practices across the organization.
You will own the development, documentation, and maintenance of manufacturing engineering methods and best practices within the Manufacturing Design Engineering (MDE) organization. Key responsibilities include creating common frameworks for manufacturing planning, process definition, work instruction structure, and build readiness across development, certification, and production phases. You will support facility planning standards including space allocation, line layouts, material flow, and infrastructure requirements.
You will define and document tooling and ground support equipment (GSE) requirements, including classification, readiness criteria, and integration into manufacturing plans. You'll develop standardized approaches for test and functional test equipment, ensuring alignment with build sequencing, quality, and certification requirements. Working cross-functionally with Design, Quality, Supply Chain, Certification, Industrialization, Facilities, and Operations teams, you will ensure standards are practical, scalable, and aligned with execution realities.
You will participate in standards governance, identify gaps through build feedback, and contribute to continuous improvement based on data and lessons learned. You'll serve as a technical resource for MDE engineers, supporting consistent execution across programs and teams.
Required qualifications include a Bachelor's or advanced degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field, plus 5+ years of experience in aerospace manufacturing engineering or similarly complex, regulated environments. You need solid hands-on experience with manufacturing planning, process definition, work instructions, tooling, and production support.
