Cohesity, a leader in AI-powered data security serving over 13,600 enterprise customers including 85+ Fortune 100 companies, is seeking an experienced Senior Manager of Technical Program Management to lead a team of TPMs and drive execution across critical, cross-functional engineering initiatives.
In this role, you will blend people leadership, program strategy, and hands-on execution. You'll build and mentor a high-performing TPM team while personally driving alignment across engineering, product, and business stakeholders on highest-priority programs.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead and grow a team of TPMs, including hiring, mentoring, performance management, and career development
- Own end-to-end delivery of major, cross-organizational technical programs from scoping and planning through execution, risk management, and launch
- Partner with engineering leadership, product management, and design to align on roadmaps, priorities, and tradeoffs across multiple teams
- Identify and mitigate risks proactively, surfacing dependencies, blockers, and resourcing gaps before they impact timelines
- Establish and evolve program management practices—tooling, rituals, reporting, and processes that scale with the organization
- Drive clear, concise communication of program status, risks, and decisions to engineering leadership and executive stakeholders
- Facilitate technical planning processes such as quarterly roadmap planning, sprint/PI planning, and post-mortems
- Champion a culture of accountability and continuous improvement using data and retrospectives
- Represent the TPM function in cross-functional leadership forums and influence organizational strategy

In-office expectations: Employees within reasonable commute work out of core offices 2-3 days per week of their choosing. The company strongly prefers candidates currently located in or near the designated job location.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 10+ years of experience in technical program management, engineering program management, or a related discipline, including 2+ years directly managing a team of TPMs or program managers
- Strong technical background—CS degree or equivalent experience, with fluency in software architecture, APIs, and infrastructure to engage credibly with engineers and make informed tradeoff decisions
- Demonstrated success leading large, complex, cross-functional programs (multiple teams, competing priorities, ambiguous scope) to successful completion
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, with experience communicating effectively to both engineers and senior executives
- Strong analytical skills—comfortable defining metrics, building dashboards, and using data to drive decisions
- Experience with program/project management tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, Smartsheet) and methodologies (Agile, Scrum, SAFe, or similar)
- Track record of building or scaling program management processes within a growing engineering organization
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to distill complexity into clear, actionable narratives
- Demonstrated experience leveraging AI tools to streamline workflows, enhance productivity, and support high-quality decision-making
NICE TO HAVE:
- Experience in data security, data management, backup/recovery, or infrastructure/cloud software
- Familiarity with hybrid and multicloud environments (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and enterprise IT workloads
- Background as a software engineer, engineering manager, or in a related technical role prior to moving into program management
- Experience operating through a large-scale product integration or M&A (e.g., platform consolidation efforts)
- PMP, PMI-ACP, or equivalent certification
