As Senior Manager of Software Engineering in R&D, you will lead high-performing teams building massively parallel and distributed systems. You'll inspire, motivate, and manage world-class software engineers developing innovative products for both on-premises and SaaS offerings. Your responsibilities include owning products end-to-end—from requirements gathering with stakeholders through build, test, and deployment—while driving thought leadership and accelerating high-quality software development.
You'll mentor and grow leaders within your team, set clear goals, and lead collaborative achievements. Cross-functional collaboration is essential: you'll work closely with product management, program management, sales, QA, and support teams to deliver high-quality products and drive product vision and roadmap. You'll also understand market dynamics to inform product direction and execution.
Required qualifications: BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science or relevant technical field; 10+ years of hands-on software engineering experience in planning, architecting, and delivering high-quality products; 5+ years building, managing, or leading high-performance development teams; knowledge of agile/scrum methodologies; and previous experience building highly scalable distributed systems. Domain expertise in distributed systems, platform, storage, data management products, data pipelines/ETL, virtualization, Kubernetes, or AI SDLC is essential. Strong coding and design skills required.
