Zscaler is seeking a Senior Manager of Software Development Engineering to lead the Common Platform Services team within the Zero Trust Exchange division. This team owns critical shared platforms including Zscaler Workflow Automation, Unified Authorization service, and enterprise services used across all Zscaler products.
You will drive the technical roadmap and execution for a team of senior engineers, focusing on building scalable, secure, high-performing platforms and developer tooling. Key responsibilities include leading technical strategy and architecture decisions, managing and mentoring senior technical talent, fostering cross-team collaboration with stakeholders across the organization, and pioneering AI-native transformation across the software development lifecycle.
The role emphasizes building enterprise-scale web services for workflow automation and notification channels with deep integrations into Salesforce, AWS, and GCP. You'll balance hands-on technical leadership with people management, ensuring flawless operational execution while enabling teams to deliver at scale.
Required qualifications: 12+ years of software engineering experience with 5+ years of technical people management; deep hands-on expertise in Java/Spring, AWS, GCP, Docker, and Kubernetes; proven experience designing and building products on hyperscalers; extensive background building cloud services for high availability, massive scale, and fault tolerance. Demonstrated curiosity about AI tools and a track record of integrating emerging technologies into workflows.
Preferred: executive presence and stakeholder management skills; domain expertise in cybersecurity, networking, or enterprise workflow software (e.g., ServiceNow); experience building products for massive scale and resilience.
