Zscaler is seeking a Senior Manager, Software Development Engineering to lead a high-performing team within the Exposure Management & Security Operations department. This hybrid role is based in Bangalore and reports to the Director of Software Development Engineering.
In this position, you will drive execution, technical excellence, and operational reliability for critical security platforms. You will lead a team of 4-6 software engineers, collaborating on roadmap execution for Detection Engineering and SOC Workbench teams in India while aligning with organizational goals. Your responsibilities include ensuring high-quality team outputs through reliable microservices and highly distributed solutions, monitoring system performance, troubleshooting complex issues, optimizing security for high availability, and managing performance and career progression for all direct reports.

REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- 12+ years as an engineering leader, including 4+ years managing global engineering teams
- 4+ years of hands-on experience leading and building solutions for Security Platforms (EDR, NDR, XDR, SIEM)
- Strong knowledge of distributed software product architectures, cloud services (AWS, GCP, Azure), monitoring solutions
- Foundational understanding of AI/ML technologies and experience leveraging, securing, or positioning AI-driven solutions
- Ability to translate technical goals into results
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience leveraging AI/ML for automated threat detection, incident response, or SOC workflow optimization
- Track record leading teams delivering highly distributed solutions using multi-language ecosystems (Java, JavaScript, React, Python, Go)
- Strong advocacy for modern practices such as DevOps, CI/CD, and automation-based delivery in large engineering organizations
