Salary: USD 180,000 - 220,000 / annual
Freshworks is seeking a Senior Manager of Revenue Accounting to lead high-impact, complex revenue-recognition projects that elevate accounting and reporting capabilities. This role reports directly to the Director of Revenue and owns all revenue close and technical accounting activities.
You will be responsible for performing and assisting in monthly revenue cycle controls, including contract reviews, deal support, and detailed review of team work. Key responsibilities include ensuring compliance with ASC 606 requirements (SSP setups and updates), conducting technical accounting research on revenue-related topics, designing and implementing systems and processes to automate revenue recognition, performing close-related accounting reviews and analyses, mentoring India-based teams on system and process improvements, and collaborating with cross-functional teams including Partner Program/Operations, IT Business Applications, FP&A, and Legal.
This is a hands-on management role requiring strong mastery of current US GAAP and technical accounting pronouncements, combined with exceptional analytical skills and meticulous attention to detail. You will work in a rapidly scaling, dynamic environment at a company serving over 72,000 customers globally.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Proven experience in public accounting, ideally with one of the Big 4 firms
- Managerial non-audit experience and demonstrated experience working with remote teams
- Deep understanding of ASC 606 revenue recognition principles and standards with experience applying these principles in complex SaaS or technology arrangements
- Experience implementing software tools such as Zuora Revenue or NetSuite ARM for revenue recognition automation
- Working experience with Salesforce and integrations into NetSuite
- Advanced analytical skills with proven ability to handle intricate technical analyses and create clear, actionable reports
- Ability to adapt quickly and operate effectively in a rapidly scaling, dynamic environment
