Salary: USD 232,000 - 282,000 / annual
Airbnb is seeking a Senior Manager, Platform Management to lead the guest payments platform strategy and execution. This is a key leadership position within the payments product organization, reporting to the Global Director of Payments Platform Product Management.
You will own all aspects of guest payment capabilities and experiences, including enabling new global and local payment methods, onboarding and validating methods with processing partners, managing post-transaction interactions such as refunds and transaction reporting, and creating and expanding installments and financing solutions.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and executing the guest payments platform strategy and roadmap, covering pay-ins, refunds, payment plans, payment methods, and processing resilience
- Overseeing the end-to-end product development lifecycle from concept through execution, launch, and post-launch optimization
- Leading cross-functional collaboration with engineering, design, product marketing, platform risk, and compliance teams
- Managing, mentoring, and developing a high-performing team of senior platform managers
- Contributing to broader payments platform strategy with insights on competitive landscape and emerging technologies
- Managing stakeholder expectations and communicating plans and progress to senior leadership
- Defining and monitoring key product metrics to ensure quality and continuous improvement
Airbnb's payments platform currently supports 220 countries and over 65 currencies, connecting dozens of payment providers and processing billions of dollars annually.
Requirements:
- 12+ years of product management experience in inbound (pay-ins) and outbound (pay-outs) money movement within payments, finance, or heavily transactional companies
- Proven product management experience with deep understanding of stakeholder needs
- Strong interpersonal skills; ability to push back, ask questions, and challenge others while building collaborative partnerships
- Direct experience working with non-product teams including legal, tax, compliance, risk, and payments operations
- Direct experience working with engineers
- Startup experience with comfort for fast pace, changing needs, and limited resources; bonus if also experienced at large scaled organizations
- Ability to synthesize large amounts of unstructured and diverse information into clear requirements
- Global perspective and experience building products for different countries and cultures
- Bonus: experience with global and local payment methods beyond credit cards, and familiarity with payments, risk, and compliance systems and tools
