Salary: USD 135,792 - 178,227 / annual
Oscar Health is seeking a Senior Manager of Network Contracting to lead a team responsible for negotiating, executing, and analyzing contracts with large national and complex healthcare provider systems. This role sits within the Network Contracting function and reports to the Director of Network Contracting.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading and mentoring a team of contracting managers, associates, and specialists with strategic objective-setting, performance monitoring, training, and development
- Negotiating and managing complex contracts with healthcare providers, hospitals, and health systems to maintain network adequacy while achieving cost and quality objectives
- Handling dispute resolution and settlement negotiations with providers, ensuring compliance with organizational standards and regulatory requirements
- Conducting comprehensive contract reviews and analyses to identify optimization opportunities
- Implementing contracting strategies in partnership with Market Leaders aligned with network development and cost management goals
- Monitoring key performance metrics related to network performance, cost, and provider satisfaction, reporting to leadership
- Ensuring timely resolution of provider issues related to contract terms, reimbursement, and network participation
- Building and maintaining positive relationships with healthcare providers to ensure network stability
- Driving implementation of contracting policies and workflows across the team
The role requires 6+ years in healthcare network contracting (including contracts with health systems, hospitals, or national providers), 4+ years managing complex provider network strategies and contract negotiations, 3+ years of leadership experience managing teams, and 3+ years in health insurance (Individual and/or Medicare Advantage) or healthcare industry experience. A bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience is preferred.
This is a hybrid position based in Oscar's New York office, requiring 3 days per week in-office with Thursdays as a mandatory in-office day for team meetings and collaboration.
