Crusoe is a vertically integrated AI infrastructure company building the complete stack from energy generation through cloud services to power large-scale AI workloads. The company is solving the power bottleneck constraining AI compute growth through an energy-first approach.
You will lead the organization responsible for the physical and logical network fabric powering Crusoe's AI-first cloud platform. This is a senior people-leadership role managing a multi-team organization across four domains: Edge (points of presence), Backbone (long-haul transport), Data Center (GPU cluster fabrics), and SDN/Cloud (control plane and customer-facing constructs). You'll report to the Director of Networking or VP of Infrastructure and serve as the primary technical and organizational bridge between hardware, infrastructure, and product leadership.
Key responsibilities include: owning company-wide network architecture strategy ensuring all four domains work as one coherent system optimized for massive GPU clusters; arbitrating high-stakes cross-domain tradeoffs (e.g., backbone capacity vs. data center fabric bandwidth); establishing engineering standards and design review processes; setting strategy for edge PoP design and peering as the company expands; defining long-haul/core network design including BGP, MPLS, optical transport, and multi-region redundancy; setting direction for spine-leaf fabric design, RDMA interconnects, and power/cooling-aware rack design for 500+ switch environments; championing intent-based networking and GitOps practices; and partnering with Product, Hardware, and Infrastructure leadership to align multi-year roadmaps.
You bring 12+ years in network engineering/architecture with 5+ years managing exceptionally skilled individual contributors. You have proven track record leading network architecture at hyperscale (1000+ switches across multi-campus/multi-region environments) and deep fluency across multiple network domains. You command SDN and cloud-native networking (SDN controllers, Kubernetes CNIs, network virtualization), have demonstrated experience setting multi-year technical strategy and influencing VP/C-level stakeholders, and a track record building and scaling technical organizations including hiring and developing senior and staff-level engineers. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field (or equivalent professional experience) required.
Bonus qualifications include prior senior leadership at hyperscalers, AI cloud providers, HPC centers, or large-scale colocation operators; experience leading network organizations supporting multi-node GPU training infrastructure; familiarity with SONiC OS, P4 programmable data planes, or formal network verification tools; open-source leadership in networking projects; and relevant certifications such as CCIE DC.
