Salary: USD 165,800 - 227,950 / annual
Divergent 3D is building the next generation of industrial manufacturing, serving demanding aerospace and defense customers. As Senior Manager of Manufacturing Engineering, you will lead a multi-disciplinary team of manufacturing engineers responsible for transforming complex designs into production-ready solutions.
Your core responsibilities include leading design-for-manufacturing initiatives, developing and implementing advanced manufacturing processes across Divergent's integrated platform, and overseeing manufacturing requirements and quality specifications. You will mentor engineers, set team priorities, and drive critical company milestones while collaborating with design, materials, quality, and production teams to influence hardware design and production readiness.
Key focus areas include process qualification, production scalability, and automation across machining, additive manufacturing, assembly, bonding, coatings, and joining techniques. You will identify and deploy novel manufacturing technologies to improve quality, reduce costs, and increase throughput, while ensuring reliable, high-quality production through root cause investigations and continuous improvement.
Required qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in mechanical or manufacturing engineering, 3+ years in a manufacturing engineering leadership role, and 8+ years total manufacturing engineering experience with significant aerospace or defense exposure. You must have proficiency in CAD software (Siemens NX, AutoCAD), strong GD&T knowledge, and hands-on experience with advanced manufacturing techniques including additive manufacturing, robotics, and automation. Experience with MES, PLM, and ERP systems is essential.
Preferred qualifications include a Master's degree, Lean Six Sigma certification, familiarity with AS9100 or ISO 9001 quality standards, and demonstrated ability to thrive in a high-tech startup environment. US export control compliance clearance is required.
