Madison Reed is seeking a Senior Manager of HCB (Hair Color Bar) Training Design & Enablement to design and deliver scalable learning and performance solutions for team members, leaders, and future franchise operators.
This is a hands-on, building role—not an oversight position. You will serve as the HCB organization's lead instructional designer and learning architect, translating business priorities, operating standards, technical expertise, and guest experience expectations into practical, engaging learning experiences. You will personally design and produce the highest-stakes onboarding programs, instructor-led and digital learning, assessments, certifications, facilitator resources, job aids, and performance-support tools rather than delegating them out. You also own the HCB learning technology experience and LMS management for the HCB population.
Reporting to the VP of HCB Operations Services & Training, you will lead the HCB Communications & Operations Specialist, help shape field communication and enablement approaches for key HCB initiatives, and partner closely with the Director of HCB Field Training, HCB Operations, Field Operations, Franchise, Marketing, People & Culture, Technology, and subject-matter experts.
Key responsibilities include:
- Owning the HCB learning architecture and developing role-based learning journeys for key HCB positions (District Manager, General Manager, frontline roles).
- Leading the redesign and standardization of HCB onboarding across all levels.
- Personally designing and developing high-priority in-person, virtual, and digital learning solutions from concept through implementation.
- Translating subject-matter expertise into clear learning objectives, practice, assessments, facilitator resources, and performance-support tools.
- Diagnosing business and performance gaps to determine when training, communication, process changes, or other solutions are needed.
- Designing scalable onboarding, training, certification, and train-the-trainer solutions for future franchise owners and operators.
- Partnering with the Director of Field Training to ensure field training programs are aligned with training principles and delivery architecture.
- Designing HCB assessment and certification frameworks, including proficiency criteria, assessment tools, certification processes, and supporting resources.
- Delivering learning consistently and at scale through train-the-trainer programs that enable field leaders and future franchise trainers.
- Owning the HCB LMS experience, including curriculum structure, learning paths, reporting, content standards, and learner experience.
- Leading HCB requirements for LMS enhancements and future learning technology needs.
- Owning HCB learning-content governance, maintenance, and version control.
- Partnering with HCB Operations and Field Leadership to develop integrated training, communications, tools, and performance support for major launches and operational changes.
- Establishing standards and best practices for HCB field communications.
- Leading and developing the HCB Communications & Operations Specialist.
