Shield AI is seeking a Senior Manager for the Guidance and Control (GNC) team to lead the development and maintenance of control and autonomy algorithms within the V-BAT aircraft codebase. This role oversees a team responsible for the full lifecycle of guidance and control systems, from algorithm development through flight test support.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the Guidance and Control team in designing, developing, and implementing control and autonomy algorithms
- Overseeing algorithm development, software design, coding, and testing activities
- Managing unit tests, component tests, and flight software qualification processes
- Supporting flight test operations and validation
- Coordinating cross-functional integration with Hivemind autonomy, State Estimation, Simulation Development, Aerodynamics, and Embedded Software teams
- Negotiating workshare and ensuring tight integration across multiple technical teams
- Driving technical excellence and team performance
