Applied Intuition is seeking a Senior Manager, Global Fleet Reliability Operations to lead the end-to-end lifecycle of vehicle issue management across multiple autonomous vehicle programs worldwide. You will oversee the intake, triage, root cause analysis, and fleet-wide resolution of vehicle and platform issues, serving as the critical bridge between operations and engineering teams.
In this role, you will:
- Lead global fleet reliability operations across development and production vehicle fleets, owning the complete issue lifecycle from initial report through root cause analysis to fleet-wide fix deployment.
- Own triage operations for both development vehicles (on-site engineer support, hands-on repro) and production fleets (telemetry-driven, SLA-based queues), defining intake processes, tooling, staffing models, and building playbooks for first-touch resolution of recurring issues.
- Partner with engineering on permanent fixes for systemic failure modes, own the engineering change management program, coordinate with build and integration teams to track global rollouts, and set validation gates ensuring vehicles are confirmed ready before returning to service.
- Build and lead a distributed team of full-time engineers and contract technical workforce across multiple regions and time zones, serving as liaison across operations, engineering, and program management.
- Own fleet uptime accountability against program targets and build tooling and reporting (daily fleet health, weekly issue trends, downtime aging, first-touch resolution metrics) that drive operational visibility.
- Maintain hands-on involvement in complex diagnostics, working with vehicle hardware, Linux-based software systems, fleet telemetry, and log data to isolate faults and route issues appropriately.

REQUIREMENTS:
- BS/MS in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or similar
- 10+ years experience with automotive hardware and software
- 5+ years leading technical teams across multiple regions, time zones, or vehicle programs (hiring, developing engineers/technicians, managing mixed full-time and contract workforce)
- Experience owning a reliability, triage, or service function with formal escalation and root cause processes
- Experience owning an engineering change or configuration control process
- Experience building tooling or dashboards that improved operational efficiency
- Experience with hardware reliability and testing
- Experience with AV components (LiDAR, RADAR, Cameras, etc.)
- Working fluency with Linux-based vehicle software (reading system logs, inspecting services/drivers, isolating middleware/comms-stack faults from hardware)
- Comfort working with fleet telemetry and log data to diagnose issues remotely
- Strong hands-on debugging ability and willingness to work on vehicles, command line, and data analysis
NICE TO HAVE:
- Experience supporting both development and production vehicle fleets
- Experience operating against customer-facing SLAs on deployed fleets
- Experience building or scaling runbook and playbook libraries
- Knowledge of automotive communication protocols (CAN/CAN FD, LIN, Automotive Ethernet)
- Knowledge of CAN/CAN FD tools (Vector, PCAN View/Explorer)
- Experience with software development tools (GitHub, Docker, Cursor)
- Familiarity with CI/CD and build systems
- Experience with Slack, Jira, Confluence
