Salary: USD 252,000 - 280,000 / annual
Fin (part of Intercom) is seeking a Senior Manager for Forward Deployed Engineering to lead the New Business team. This role combines technical leadership with commercial acumen, managing a team focused on winning and executing complex, high-stakes customer deployments for enterprise organizations.
You will lead a Forward Deployed Engineering team responsible for navigating ambiguous customer engagements and delivering seven-figure opportunities. The role is both strategic and hands-on: you'll operate as a player-coach, actively participating in critical deals while developing team capabilities. You'll own end-to-end outcomes through clear communication, execution speed, tight cross-functional coordination, and technical quality.
Key responsibilities include leading and coaching a high-performing FDE team under pressure; owning technical execution and business value outcomes for complex deployments; collaborating closely with Sales, Solutions, and Product teams; translating field experience into actionable product feedback; codifying successful deployments into reusable tools and playbooks; championing a customer-obsessed culture with early problem detection; leading discovery, design, and delivery of tailored technical solutions including PoCs and business value assessments; and representing Fin externally in executive meetings and strategic events.
Required qualifications: 5+ years of technical experience (Software Engineer, Forward Deployed Engineer, Solutions Architect, Applied AI, or related roles); 3+ years leading technical customer-facing teams with proven hiring, mentoring, and management track record; experience selling and deploying AI, data, or highly technical products in complex enterprise environments; comfort with ambiguous problem spaces and ability to translate ambiguity into clear signals for Product and Engineering; excellent communication and presentation skills; flexibility for global team collaboration.
