Beacon Biosignals is transforming precision medicine for the brain through at-home EEG platforms for clinical development and diagnostics. The company combines EEG and cardiopulmonary signals to deliver reimbursable assessments for sleep and central nervous system disorders.
You will lead the Mobile Apps engineering team, managing seven direct reports (engineers and a product manager) with one additional IC hire planned. Your team owns the patient-facing mobile experiences that allow patients to interact with Beacon's EEG headbands and wearables in clinical trials and at-home diagnostic settings, capturing high-fidelity neurological data in a regulated health tech environment.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing and developing your team, coaching engineers through growth opportunities and technical challenges
- Owning technical direction across React Native cross-platform apps and native iOS (Swift) and Android (Kotlin) BLE device SDKs
- Driving an outcome-oriented roadmap aligned with company objectives and integrated with adjacent platform teams
- Managing projects end-to-end: defining scope, managing timelines, setting expectations, and keeping cross-functional partners informed
- Cultivating a high-functioning team culture focused on collaboration, continuous improvement, and quality
- Balancing short-term delivery with long-term platform health and technical debt management
- Establishing team processes that support efficient execution within a regulated product environment
Your team builds and maintains the apps and SDKs through which patients pair, configure, and use Beacon's Waveband EEG headband. Recent initiatives include supporting new BLE wearable devices, improving in-app signal quality validation, streamlining onboarding and compliance tracking for clinical trial participants, and enhancing the end-to-end experience for Home Sleep Test diagnostic patients.
Beacon maintains robust asynchronous work practices with office hubs in Boston and New York. The team spans the US and Europe, with preference for candidates in the US Eastern time zone. This role reports directly to Beacon's VP of Platform.
