Webflow is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to lead the team building code-native Webflow, a high-fidelity code representation that enables seamless transitions between visual and code-based workflows. This player-coach role combines team leadership with hands-on technical contribution. You will set the technical and product direction for making Webflow code-native, including high-fidelity round-tripping between visual and code surfaces. You'll lead the integration of coding agents into the Webflow building experience and own the developer experience of working with Webflow in code, from core primitives and APIs to tooling and feedback loops. Key responsibilities include turning an emerging problem space into a coherent roadmap, sequencing foundational platform work with customer-facing capabilities, and partnering closely with product, design, and engineering teams across Webflow. You'll stay technically engaged through architecture, design reviews, prototyping, and hands-on contribution where it has the most leverage. Additionally, you'll hire, coach, and develop engineers while building a high-performing technical culture. You should have 4+ years of experience leading engineering teams building developer products, platforms, or technically complex product surfaces. Strong technical depth in areas like compilers, code generation, language tooling, IDEs, or developer infrastructure is essential to actively shape architecture. Experience building with AI or agentic systems, or demonstrated ability to get deep in the space quickly, is required. You'll have a track record of turning ambiguous technical problems into systems that customers can actually use, and you're comfortable balancing long-term architecture with the pressure to ship and learn. Your leadership style combines high technical standards with strong coaching and team development. The role is remote-first, based in the United States or Canada (BC & ON). Compensation is structured by geographic pay zones, with US ranges from $217,000–$310,000 USD depending on zone and experience, and Canada at $270,000–$338,000 CAD. You'll also be eligible for Webflow's company-wide bonus program. This is a full-time, permanent, exempt position reporting to the Director of Engineering.
