Crusoe is a vertically integrated AI infrastructure company building the future of energy-efficient AI compute. The company owns and operates each layer of the stack—from electrons to tokens—to power the world's most ambitious AI workloads.
You will lead the Developer Experience (DevX) team, a high-impact group responsible for critical developer tools and infrastructure used across all of Crusoe's engineering organization. This role owns multiple charters within DevX, including an AI remote agent platform, a suite of standard agents (coding, reviewing, maintenance/upgrades), and support for coding harnesses.
As Senior Manager, you will shape technical direction, communicate strategic vision, and foster a company-wide culture of engineering excellence. You'll partner with stakeholders across the organization to define the future state of Crusoe's software development efforts, eliminating friction between engineers and their "flow state."
Key responsibilities include:
- Engineering Acceleration: Build paved paths that engineers love—fast, reliable, and broadly adopted across all engineering teams.
- Toil Elimination: Identify and automate away friction and repetitive tasks that slow development, keeping engineers in high-productivity states.
- Library & Environment Creation: Develop libraries, tools, and pre-production environments for vetting service APIs and complex microservice interactions.
- Ecosystem Integration: Unify internal tooling and vendor services to automate workflows, build operational efficiency, and optimize security.
- Culture of Quality: Establish a culture of continuous quality delivery that scales with engineering headcount and infrastructure growth.
- System Optimization: Build efficient systems and processes that serve as force multipliers for every engineer.
Requirements:
- Previous experience leading multiple team charters in DevX, including managing other managers
- Expert ability to evaluate technical tradeoffs and understand how infrastructure decisions impact developer productivity
- Fluent knowledge of industry-standard AI tooling, build tooling, containerization, and open-source development frameworks
- Demonstrated passion for building empathetic developer and operator workflows that prioritize human productivity
- Professional experience managing or developing within Kubernetes clusters and deep understanding of container orchestration
- Proven experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), Release Engineering, or similar productivity-focused discipline
- Deep understanding of automated testing infrastructure and CI/CD pipeline integration
- Expertise in modern programming languages (specifically Go) and advanced proficiency in Git-based workflows (GitLab/GitHub)
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related analytical field (or equivalent professional experience)
Bonus qualifications:
- Experience informing long-term company objectives through technical insight and developer-centric advocacy
- Experience building AI agent platforms for engineering teams
- Hands-on experience with Linux image construction and package building
- Background in solving complex, multi-layered technical problems and successfully automating solutions
