Wealthsimple, Canada's leading financial innovator, is seeking a Senior Manager of Corporate Development to drive inorganic growth through mergers & acquisitions, strategic investments, and partnerships. This role sits within a small, high-impact team responsible for accelerating company growth and sits at the intersection of corporate strategy and deal execution. You will partner with product, engineering, and business leadership to identify, evaluate, and execute strategic opportunities that provide access to best-in-class products, technology, and talent. Key responsibilities include developing rigorous build/buy/partner analyses, managing the full deal lifecycle from sourcing through post-deal integration, and serving as a subject matter expert on competitive landscape and industry trends. Specific activities include: identifying strategic opportunities aligned with product roadmap and business strategy; conducting qualitative and quantitative analyses including financial forecasting and valuation modeling; managing deal processes including inbound/outbound sourcing, assessment, valuation, negotiations, due diligence, structuring, and closing; and collaborating across cross-functional teams and external ecosystem partners (VCs, founders, investment banks). The ideal candidate brings 7+ years of relevant experience in corporate development, investment banking, venture capital, or private equity. You demonstrate proactive ownership, thrive in dynamic fast-paced environments, and have deep passion for high-growth tech, fintech, and traditional financial services. Strong financial modeling and valuation skills (DCF, comps analysis) are essential, along with superior problem-solving abilities, high emotional intelligence, and exceptional communication skills. You balance multiple high-priority projects while maintaining strong relationships internally and externally. Wealthsimple serves over 4 million Canadians and administers $155+ billion in assets.
