Veho is building modern, end-to-end logistics infrastructure for ecommerce. As Senior Manager of Carrier Strategy & Performance, you will report directly to the Director of Transportation and own the complete partner lifecycle—from RFP through Monthly Business Reviews—transforming logistics from reactive service to proactive, performance-driven operations.
You will architect and audit Veho's external transportation ecosystem, managing a diverse portfolio of carriers, brokers, and logistics vendors. Key responsibilities include:
**Strategic Sourcing & Onboarding**: Actively source, vet, and onboard carriers and logistics partners. Build a bench of high-quality capacity to support rapid expansion across a national footprint.
**Performance Management**: Design and implement a robust Performance Management Framework with comprehensive scorecards. Track partners against specific KPIs including On-Time Performance (OTP), hold underperformers accountable through formal contract reviews, and facilitate Monthly and Quarterly Business Reviews to discuss trends and align on growth.
**Multi-Complex Transportation Strategy**: Design sophisticated routing and capacity plans leveraging diverse provider types to optimize package flow across a high-growth network. Proactively identify at-risk segments, perform root-cause analysis on service failures, and re-source capacity when partners underperform.
**Compliance & Risk Management**: Oversee rigorous vetting (NDAs, RFIs, DOT safety scores) to ensure all partners exceed safety, security, and insurance requirements. Deep understanding of DOT regulations, safety ratings, and insurance requirements (Cargo, GL, Auto) is essential.
**Cost & Contract Management**: Build a comprehensive partner database to support competitive bidding. Manage high-stakes rate negotiations across diverse service models to drive down costs while maintaining service reliability.
**Cross-Functional Collaboration**: Partner with Ground Ops, Finance, and Expansion teams to align vendor capabilities and carrier capacity with real-time customer needs.
You will lead and develop a team of specialists focused on network health. The ideal candidate brings 7+ years of hands-on logistics experience with emphasis on carrier procurement, vendor management, and contract negotiation. Advanced Excel/Google Sheets skills for network-level data analysis required.
