Homeward is a fast-paced, remote-first real estate fintech startup founded in 2018 that offers bundled cash offers, mortgage, and title services across 13 states. The company helps buyers and sellers move with certainty and convenience by removing friction from the homebuying process. You will build and manage the operational infrastructure for the Capital Markets function, overseeing a lean team responsible for day-to-day execution of debt facility operations. Your core mandate is to establish systems, processes, controls, and reporting that enable the team to operate with greater speed, accuracy, and consistency as Homeward scales. Key responsibilities include: - Leading and developing the Capital Markets Operations function, setting priorities and ensuring timely, accurate execution of facility operations - Driving efficiency and automation by reducing manual work, improving data flows, and making facility operations more scalable and reliable - Owning day-to-day facility execution, including draw execution, borrowing base reporting, reconciliations, and lender reporting - Monitoring facility utilization and covenant compliance, flagging issues before they become breaches - Partnering with the Senior Director of Capital Markets on operational design as new facilities, lenders, and loan products are added - Building and continuously improving the operating model for Capital Markets, identifying opportunities to eliminate manual work and strengthen controls This is a builder and doer role with significant autonomy. You will step in to solve complex operational issues and establish clear systems and tools for the team to execute effectively. REQUIREMENTS: - 6+ years in capital markets operations, warehouse lending, or debt facility management, ideally with mortgage or structured finance exposure - Track record of building from scratch and continuously improving the efficiency of systems - Working fluency with debt facility mechanics: draws, borrowing base math, and lender reporting requirements - Comfort with loan-level data; ability to trace discrepancies from lender reports back to origination records - Ability to operate independently as a builder and doer, not an oversight role NICE TO HAVE: - Background in private equity-backed or venture-backed companies - Exposure to cash management in a capital-intensive business - Experience in real estate, mortgage, or fintech
