As Senior Manager of Autonomous Vehicle Assembly Operations, you will lead the transformation of base electric truck platforms into production-ready Outrider autonomous vehicles. You own end-to-end vehicle upfit, assembly, integration, inspection, test, and verification—including sensors, compute and electrical systems, wiring and harnesses, mechanical assemblies, and robotic systems.
You will develop the manufacturing blueprint to scale from low-volume builds to efficient, repeatable commercial production, translating strategy into day-to-day execution both internally and with OEM and contract manufacturing partners. This is a hands-on leadership role with accountability for safety, people, quality, delivery, inventory, cost, facilities, and continuous improvement.
Key responsibilities include leading a high-performing team of assembly and integration technicians; designing and optimizing process flow, line layout, workstations, tooling, and manufacturing footprint; establishing standard work, training programs, and production controls; developing internal-versus-external manufacturing strategies; managing KPIs for safety, quality, delivery, cost, throughput, and labor efficiency; building quality into each stage through process controls and in-process inspection; applying lean and quality methods (root-cause analysis, SPC, PFMEA); partnering with Engineering and Test on robust component and final-vehicle test processes; deploying MES and manufacturing data systems; partnering with Supply Chain, Finance, and IT on ERP/MRP and inventory management; and managing assembly-related vehicle repairs and modifications.
The ideal candidate has built and scaled complex electromechanical assembly operations from low-volume production through commercial scale, combines strong manufacturing and quality expertise with technician leadership, and thrives in a fast-paced environment with a roll-up-your-sleeves problem-solving approach.
