Babylist Media is seeking a Senior Manager, Ad Operations & Yield to own the supply side of their advertising business. This is a newly created role that consolidates ad operations, inventory management, and yield optimization work previously distributed across multiple people. You will report to the Director of Revenue Operations and lead a team including offsite media support and an outsourced onsite ad ops partner, while remaining hands-on in the ad server yourself. Key responsibilities include: - Assess the current ad-tech stack within the first 90 days and deliver a comprehensive ad-tech, inventory, and yield roadmap - Own Koddi (Babylist's retail media platform) configuration, serving logic, and delivery health across onsite placements including Registry, Feed, and Shop - Set inventory rules for capacity, allocation, and prioritization in partnership with Revenue Systems - Increase eCPM, fill rate, and utilization from existing supply - Establish SLAs, QA standards, and escalation paths for the outsourced ad ops partner - Lead offsite distribution strategy across Meta, TikTok, YouTube, Pinterest, and Babylist Connect - Build incident response processes to catch delivery issues before they become make-goods - Own the roadmap transitioning from flat-fee sponsorships toward CPM-based selling and eventually self-serve buying This is a player-coach role where you'll define the function from scratch rather than inherit an existing playbook. You'll work in Koddi yourself while setting strategy and leading execution. The inventory is first-party and high-intent, reaching expecting and new parents shopping on registry and in the shop. Babyllist is a remote-first company with team members across the US and Canada. The company generated $750M in revenue in 2025 and is reshaping the $235B kids and baby market. They emphasize AI as a core part of daily work, not an experiment, and provide leading tools like Claude and ChatGPT from day one. REQUIREMENTS: - Sell-side experience: worked at a publisher or retailer that owns and monetizes its inventory - Hands-on ad server administration experience: line items, targeting, priorities, delivery rules (recent enough to still do it yourself) - Deep understanding of ad server logic and tradeoffs: priority tiers, competing demand resolution, pacing, frequency, fill - Owned yield metrics: eCPM, fill, sell-through, utilization; turned those numbers into inventory and pricing decisions - Built inventory frameworks: capacity planning, allocation and prioritization rules, overselling controls - Led people and partners while remaining hands-on: set priorities for teams/vendors, held them to standards, still configure campaigns when needed - Working knowledge of broader ad tech stack: DSPs, SSPs, programmatic, identity, measurement PLUS (preferred): - Retail media experience - Experience transitioning direct-sold, flat-fee business toward CPM or programmatic selling - Familiarity with paid social distribution (Meta, TikTok, Pinterest, YouTube) sold as media product - Ability to explain technical tradeoffs to Sales, Product, and Finance in plain language - Comfort moving between strategy, vendor management, and troubleshooting; defining playbooks rather than following them - Active use of AI to move faster and improve output
