- Active CPA license (US) or CPA Canada designation.
- Deep US GAAP expertise, with hands-on experience in revenue recognition (ASC 606), principal-versus-agent analysis, and accounting for customer funds, accruals, and liabilities.

- Experience designing a general ledger and subledgers for a transaction-heavy platform (payments, payroll, marketplace, or fintech); ability to translate product specifications into journal entries, reconciliation requirements, and controls.
- Track record of working with engineers and product managers as a peer, translating accounting requirements into data models, event definitions, and system behavior.
- Experience extending and optimizing a cloud ERP after implementation, including integrations, posting logic, and automation; Rillet experience preferred.
- Track record of managing and developing high-performing teams with clear standards for review and ownership.
- Clear, direct written and verbal communication; ability to run multiple workstreams across Finance, Engineering, and Product simultaneously.
