Twilio is seeking a Senior Manager, Accounting to join the Controllership PMO group. In this role, you will define and lead strategic initiatives across the Controllership organization and play a critical role in achieving company goals. You will lead multiple high-visibility, high-impact projects from ideation through execution, including M&A integration, global system implementations, and operational process improvements leveraging AI and automation.
Your focus will be on driving efficiency, scalability, and compliance to support Twilio's growth. You will support stakeholders across the Controllership organization (Accounting, Tax, SEC Reporting) and operational teams (AP, Billing, Payroll), while also interacting heavily with cross-functional teams in R&D and GTM.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading multiple complex strategic initiatives in partnership with senior Controllership members and cross-functional teams (Billing Platform, Financial Systems Enablement, IT/Support, ERP PMO, M&A, Finance) to ensure resources focus on highest-priority work and all projects deliver on time, within scope, and within budget
- Driving automation of operational processes by identifying, validating, and prioritizing automation opportunities and project managing execution; contributing to CFO-level automation initiatives
- Championing critical, organization-wide change-management efforts with proactive stakeholder communication and problem-solving focus

While remote-based in Mexico, you may be asked to report in person on an ad-hoc basis for team gatherings, functional off-sites, or customer meetings, and occasional travel may be required for project or team in-person meetings.
REQUIREMENTS:
Required:
- 8+ years in Accounting, with preferred experience in global public companies with $1B+ in annual revenue
- Deep understanding of US GAAP, with demonstrated ability to interpret, document, and operationalize new, complex accounting scenarios
- Direct experience with SOX, with demonstrated ability to identify and assess risks and implement appropriate mitigations
- Proven track record managing cross-functional projects from initiation to closure
- Demonstrated success automating accounting and operational processes, with hands-on experience using a wide range of automation tools
- Exceptional communication skills, with ability to express yourself clearly and succinctly in writing and verbally to multiple organizational levels
- Experience building productive relationships across organizations and levels
- Natural ability to codify information and create and maintain institutional, permanent documentation
Desired:
- Experience with Oracle ERP or similar systems, including implementation and troubleshooting
