Nabla is an AI-powered clinical documentation assistant trusted by over 100,000 clinicians across 130+ healthcare organizations. The company is backed by a recent $70M Series C and is building the next generation of clinical AI to streamline workflows and improve patient care.
As a Senior Machine Learning Engineer, you will join a cross-functional squad and take ownership of high-impact ML projects that redefine clinicians' workflows. You'll work within a lean, fast-moving engineering team led by former Meta AI Research engineers, collaborating with product managers, designers, and domain experts.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading ambitious ML projects and collaborating with multiple engineers to deliver impactful solutions
- Proposing and guiding experiments, model architectures, and data-labeling strategies to improve speech-to-text, note generation, and normalization systems
- Implementing, training, and deploying models in production, ensuring scalability and robustness in a live healthcare setting
- Optimizing R&D processes to enable rapid and confident model shipping at scale
- Staying at the cutting edge of AI research and fostering technical growth within the team
- Mentoring junior engineers and contributing to the maturation of ML processes
Nabla currently processes 10 billion tokens/month with LLMs and generates hundreds of clinical notes daily, saving clinicians significant time.
The tech stack includes Python, PyTorch, Transformers, vLLM, Google Cloud, Kubernetes, and OpenAI GPT-4. The Paris office is located in the 3e arrondissement (Arts & Métiers), with a hybrid policy of 1-2 days per week on-site and flexibility for 1-2 weeks remote annually.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of extensive experience training and deploying neural networks for real-world use cases
- Deep expertise in machine learning with proven ability to lead ML projects
- Strong leadership skills and demonstrated ability to mentor junior engineers
- Advanced Python coding skills; ability to write clean, production-ready code
- Passion for AI in healthcare and vision for redefining clinical workflows
- Fluent in English with clear and effective communication
- Broader software engineering experience (infrastructure, front-end, etc.) is a plus
