As a Senior Machine Learning Engineer, you will own the development and maintenance of machine learning infrastructure and operations, with particular focus on the cash advance underwriting model and other ML use cases. This is a hands-on technical role requiring strong software development, machine learning, and data engineering expertise.
Key responsibilities include:
- Design, build, and maintain ML infrastructure for optimal data extraction, transformation, and loading from various sources
- Develop and manage data pipelines and workflows for machine learning models
- Design, develop, and implement ML models for underwriting and financial service applications, ensuring robustness, scalability, and maintainability
- Work closely with data scientists, software engineers, and product managers to integrate ML models into production systems
- Monitor and evaluate deployed model performance against accuracy and efficiency metrics
- Implement continuous improvement and optimization processes
- Design and implement A/B tests and experiments to optimize models and align with business goals
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field (advanced degree preferred)
- Minimum 3 years of machine learning engineering experience with proven track record of deploying ML models in production
- Proficiency in Python or Ruby
- Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software design principles
- Experience with ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch)
- Familiarity with MLOps practices and CI/CD tools for ML models
- Experience with cloud services (AWS, GCP) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills for conveying technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
