Heidi Health is building AI-powered clinical tools that reduce administrative burden on healthcare providers. The company has achieved significant scale—supporting 2.5 million patient sessions weekly across 190+ countries—and is now expanding its product footprint globally.
As a Senior Localisation Engineer, you will own the technical infrastructure that enables Heidi's products to operate seamlessly across multiple languages and regions. This is a bridge role between engineering, product, design, and linguistics teams, requiring both deep technical expertise and collaborative problem-solving.
Key responsibilities include:
- Building and improving Heidi's localisation platform and workflows to support global scaling
- Developing AI-assisted translation pipelines that combine automation with human review
- Designing systems to reliably deliver localised content across web and mobile applications
- Creating tools for linguists and product teams to manage, review, and improve translations
- Contributing to developer tooling and open-source libraries for i18n workflows
- Integrating localisation platforms (Crowdin, Smartling, etc.) into CI/CD pipelines
- Working with structured content formats (JSON, XML, XLIFF) and version control systems
- Identifying and resolving localisation issues across the full stack
Required qualifications:
- 3–10 years of professional software engineering experience
- Cloud infrastructure experience (AWS, GCP)
- Proficiency in Python or Go for building tools and automation
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills across technical and linguistic domains
- Clear communication and cross-functional collaboration
- Commitment to product quality and user experience
Nice-to-have skills include experience with localisation platforms, NLP/language systems, infrastructure-as-code (Terraform), internal tools development, and multilingual background.
