This Senior LNG & Natural Gas Analyst role focuses on European natural gas and LNG market analysis. You will build and refine quantitative supply-and-demand forecasting models that capture European gas market dynamics with high predictive accuracy. Daily responsibilities include monitoring complex market datasets to identify emerging trade trends, structural shifts, and fundamental drivers across European gas infrastructure.
You will generate high-impact research articles, reports, and expert commentary linking European natural gas developments to global LNG implications. A key part of the role is engaging directly with clients and prospective customers—presenting market insights at industry events and conferences, and delivering Kpler's views to media and stakeholders.
On the technical side, you will leverage programming tools (SQL, Python, VBA) to automate data collection, refine model inputs, and streamline analytical workflows. You'll collaborate cross-functionally with adjacent research desks (Power, Refineries, LPG) and market data teams to expand Kpler's gas coverage.
This is an individual contributor role with significant visibility and client-facing responsibility, but does not involve managing people.
**Requirements:**
- 5+ years of experience in natural gas or LNG market analysis, with at least 3 years specifically covering European gas markets
- Strong technical proficiency in dataset analysis using advanced Excel
- Hands-on coding experience in SQL, Python, or VBA for model development and automation
- Proven track record of building, maintaining, and justifying quantitative market models and fundamental forecasts
- Excellent written communication and presentation skills, with demonstrated experience delivering data-backed views to internal and external stakeholders
- Bachelor's degree in Econometrics, Data Science, Economics, or a related quantitative discipline
**Nice-to-haves:**
- Experience using data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau to build interactive market dashboards
- Demonstrated interest or experience in applying AI tools to automate data collection, visualization, and analytical tasks
