Aqua Security is seeking a Senior Linux Kernel Engineer to join the Runtime Security Group, focusing on building technology that detects and stops sophisticated attacks at runtime across cloud-native environments. This is a highly technical, hands-on role at the intersection of Linux kernel development, cybersecurity, and runtime protection.
You will design and implement robust, scalable runtime security components for both cloud and on-premises environments. Core responsibilities include working deeply with Linux kernel internals, kernel modules, syscalls, and kernel/user-space interactions. You'll develop and optimize low-level components that enable runtime threat detection and protection, leveraging technologies such as eBPF for tracing, observability, security monitoring, and runtime protection.
Key ownership areas include end-to-end technical initiatives from architecture and design through implementation, testing, code review, and production delivery. You'll collaborate closely with software architects and senior engineers to shape technical direction and solve complex system-level challenges. The role involves leading and contributing to technical proofs-of-concept evaluating new technologies and approaches, while maintaining high standards for code quality, performance, reliability, and security across the full software development lifecycle.
You'll contribute to the evolution of Aqua's next-generation cloud-native runtime security platform, working on deep Linux kernel and runtime technologies that protect large-scale production environments. This opportunity involves working alongside world-class engineers, security researchers, and architects while influencing the technical direction of a leading cloud-native security platform. The role requires deep expertise in Linux, eBPF, Kubernetes, containers, and cloud infrastructure—this is not a position for building standard backend services, but rather for operating at the operating system level to understand and stop modern attacks.
