Scalable Capital, a leading European fintech platform with over €50 billion in assets under management and 1M+ clients, is seeking a Senior Kotlin/Java Software Engineer to join their rapidly expanding broker business. You'll be part of a highly motivated cross-functional team building one of Europe's fastest-growing neo-brokers, working on cutting-edge technology with modern software development practices including agile methodologies, continuous integration/deployment, test automation, and cloud-based infrastructure.
Key responsibilities include designing and implementing backend services using Kotlin, Java, GraphQL, Spring Boot, Docker, AWS, and Terraform. You'll contribute to a distributed, microservices-based architecture serving millions of retail investors across Europe. The role emphasizes well-architected, testable, and thoroughly documented code, with opportunities to apply domain-driven design principles.
Required qualifications: university degree in computer science, engineering, or related field (or equivalent); solid hands-on experience with the full tech stack (Kotlin, Java, GraphQL, Docker, Spring Boot, AWS, Terraform); strong analytical thinking in both technical and product domains; excellent communication skills across engineering, product, and stakeholder audiences; passion for code quality and architecture.
Desirable experience includes GDPR compliance and security topics, domain-driven design, distributed architectures, microservices patterns, and background in financial services. You'll join a 700+ person team across Munich, Berlin, Vienna, Milan, and London, working on products including Scalable Broker (stocks, ETFs, crypto, derivatives), Scalable Wealth (digital wealth management), and the European Investor Exchange.
