Salary: EUR 3,330 - 6,660 / monthly
KAYAK, part of Booking Holdings, is a leading global travel search engine processing billions of queries annually. The company operates a portfolio of metasearch brands including momondo, Cheapflights, and HotelsCombined, integrating with over 200 travel partners and linking to 500,000+ hotels and 550 airlines.
In this role, you will be a senior backend engineer responsible for implementing new features and maintaining KAYAK's world-leading search and booking technology. You'll work on a high-powered team that serves millions of users daily, helping them find the best flights, hotels, and travel packages.
Key responsibilities include:
- Implementing new backend search and booking features, often under guidance of principal engineers
- Collaborating with the team to improve existing features with focus on speed and user experience
- Creating and maintaining integrations with third-party travel APIs
- Contributing to the architecture and scalability of a system handling massive query volumes
Required qualifications:
- 4+ years of professional Java development experience
- Strong familiarity with Spring framework and SQL databases
- Computer Science degree or related field
- Fluent English communication skills
- Ability to work hybrid (minimum 3 days per week in Vilnius office)
- Collaborative mindset with willingness to learn and grow
Bonus skills include exposure to ElasticSearch or similar search technologies.
Compensation includes base salary (EUR 3,330–6,660 gross monthly), ~10% yearly bonus, and Booking Holdings RSU package (USD 20,000 gross with potential yearly refreshes).
