NerdWallet is seeking a Senior IT Systems Administrator to maintain and enhance the organization's technology infrastructure. This role reports to the Manager of IT and focuses on designing, configuring, and maintaining enterprise-scale systems including identity platforms, endpoint management, networking, and cloud infrastructure.
Key responsibilities include administering Okta for SSO and access controls, managing user lifecycle automation for onboarding/offboarding, maintaining corporate IT infrastructure (networks, servers, firewalls, AWS/Azure/GCP), and managing endpoint security via Jamf and Intune. The role involves SOX compliance enforcement, building automation across IT operations using code and no-code tools, evaluating emerging technologies, and creating technical documentation. You'll collaborate cross-functionally with Security, DevOps, and HR teams on infrastructure improvements and may assist with sensitive special projects.
Required qualifications include a degree in Computer Science, IT, or equivalent experience; proficiency with network infrastructure and AWS; and proven enterprise-scale experience with IdP/SSO platforms (Okta), MDM (Jamf/Intune), and cloud concepts. You should have functional knowledge of security principles, automation tools (Okta Workflows, APIs, Python, Bash, PowerShell), Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), and Git. Strong technical communication, documentation skills, and ability to manage projects independently are essential.
Desirable experience includes scaling IT systems through organizational growth/M&A, using AI tools for IT problem-solving, implementing compliance controls (SOX, NIST, ISO), and holding relevant IT certifications.
