FloatMe is seeking a hands-on Senior IT & Security Operations Engineer to report directly to the CISO and serve as the primary technical operator for cloud, infrastructure, hardware, and network security. This is a hybrid role split 70% security engineering and 30% corporate IT, requiring at least 3 days per week in-office at the downtown San Antonio location. In the security engineering capacity (70%), you will administer and maintain endpoint management solutions using Microsoft Intune and Microsoft Defender, manage AWS and Cloudflare security configurations, configure and maintain office networking hardware including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs, manage and monitor SIEM and threat detection systems, document security events and incidents, implement system hardening and security policies, administer user access and SSO/SaaS account management, and support the company's SOC2 certification efforts. In the corporate IT capacity (30%), you will provision and configure new laptops for onboarding, manage laptop recovery and wiping for offboarding, serve as the primary point of contact for in-office IT requests including desk setups and peripheral troubleshooting, maintain office printers and essential hardware, and configure and maintain A/V equipment for conference rooms. The ideal candidate is a driver and owner who takes initiative, is genuinely hands-on and self-driven, communicates technical concepts clearly to non-technical teammates, acts as a builder improving inherited systems and processes, and collaborates effectively across teams. You are not an auditor or paper pusher—you implement security posture yourself. You are hungry, competitive, and an impact player who can provide comprehensive coverage of the company's security and infrastructure. Qualifications & Requirements: - 4–10 years of experience in IT Systems Administration, Network Operations, or IT Support with demonstrated interest in cybersecurity (transitioning military and veterans with IT/Cyber specialties encouraged) - Hands-on experience with MDM, identity/SSO providers (Okta, Microsoft Intune, Google Workspace, Azure AD), and SaaS admin consoles (extra credit for Microsoft Intune and Defender) - Solid understanding of network engineering, hardware configuration, and VPN management (extra credit for securing remote worker devices) - Foundational experience or strong familiarity with cloud security configurations on any cloud platform - Exposure to or experience with SIEM and threat detection platforms - Comfort with diverse tasks from cloud security tuning to physical desk setup and printer troubleshooting - Excellent written communication skills for documenting security incidents, network diagrams, and IT procedures Bonus qualifications: Microsoft Intune, Defender, AWS, Cloudflare, SOC2 experience, fintech/banking/regulated environment background, IT/security certifications (Security+, Google IT Support, ITIL), scripting/automation experience (Python, Bash, PowerShell), startup or fast-growth company experience.
