AgentMail, a fast-growing developer infrastructure company, is seeking a Founding Operations Lead to work directly alongside the founders and early team in San Francisco.
This is a generalist operations role with intentionally broad scope. The company is small and moving quickly, and hundreds of things outside of core engineering and customer conversations need to happen weekly for momentum to continue. You will own the operational execution that enables the founders and team to move fast.
Key areas of ownership include:
**Company Operations**: Build AgentMail into an exceptionally well-run workplace. Own the office, vendors, equipment, supplies, food, onboarding logistics, and the countless small details that make a company function smoothly.
**Founder Operations**: Help founders execute quickly on cross-functional projects that fall between traditional functions—research, coordination, travel, reservations, scheduling, logistics, and one-off initiatives.
**Hiring & Candidate Experience**: Create an outstanding interview experience for candidates, from coordinating office visits to organizing candidate dinners and work trials.
**Events & Community**: Organize team events, developer dinners, hackathons, offsites, celebrations, and community-building activities.
**Special Projects**: Take ambiguous problems and run with them independently. These projects may be unrelated to one another; ownership and resourcefulness are what matter.
The common thread across all areas is ownership—seeing problems, taking initiative, and driving solutions without needing a playbook.
**Why This Role**: You'll gain exposure to nearly every aspect of building a company: hiring, recruiting, finance, events, people operations, vendor management, launches, and more. You'll have unusual responsibility early and won't be confined to a predetermined box. As AgentMail grows, this role grows with it. If you excel at recruiting, you can own more recruiting. If you're exceptional at company operations, you can build that function. If you discover strengths in areas the company hasn't anticipated, you'll have room to run.
This is ideal for someone who wants to learn how a company gets built from the inside and prefers being in the middle of it rather than observing from the sidelines.
