Rocket Lab is seeking a Senior Integration & Test Engineer to support the Space Systems organization at their Long Beach headquarters. This role is responsible for the development, test, and deployment of flight spacecraft systems, as well as the development, maintenance, and upgrading of test systems for that hardware. You will lead and own integration and test campaigns at various levels of spacecraft development, working collaboratively with team members to define systems requirements and verification/validation plans. Key responsibilities include developing acceptance, qualification, and R&D test plans for spacecraft systems; developing, maintaining, and operating environmental test systems (vibration, thermal vacuum, thermal, EMI, etc.); developing and maintaining mechanical and electrical ground support equipment and facilities; interfacing with ground test software and implementing flight software configuration changes; leading investigations into anomalous vehicle behavior; and interfacing with hardware-in-the-loop test systems. The Space Systems team has enabled more than 1,700 missions ranging from interplanetary exploration and in-space manufacturing to national security and defense initiatives. The team has built spacecraft, payloads, and components for missions to the Moon and Mars, working with partners including NASA, the Space Development Agency, and the U.S. Space Force. Required qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in electrical, electronics, mechatronics, aerospace, or related engineering field; 5+ years of experience in test engineering or hands-on engineering roles; experience with environmental testing such as thermal vacuum or random vibration testing; proficiency with C, C++, Python, or MATLAB; experience writing technical documentation; and U.S. citizenship with ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance. Desirable qualifications include a Master's or PhD in engineering; 4+ years of professional aerospace test engineering experience; strong understanding of satellite subsystems (CDH, ADCS, EPS, COMM); clean room and ESD experience; hands-on electrical test equipment experience; test systems design and implementation; sensor and signal conditioning knowledge; spacecraft harness design familiarity; 3D CAD software experience (preferably NX); RF testing and hardware-in-the-loop testing experience; networking knowledge; and Linux systems experience.
