Rubrik is seeking a Senior Integration & Automation Engineer to lead the design, build, and governance of enterprise APIs, integrations, and AI-driven automation across the organization. This is a hands-on technical leadership role within the Enterprise Integrations & Intelligent Automations team.
Key responsibilities include:
**API & Integration Architecture**: Own API and integration strategy for assigned domains, defining API-led patterns (Experience, Process, System APIs), reference architectures, and enterprise standards. Design and build RESTful APIs exposing well-designed resources with clear contracts, documentation, and SLAs. Lead implementation of integrations between SaaS and on-premises applications (NetSuite, Workday, Salesforce, Snowflake, ServiceNow, and others), ensuring solutions are scalable, secure, resilient, and observable.
**Data Integration & Performance**: Create data integration strategies for high-volume data flows, optimizing for performance, reliability, and cost. Architect robust data integrations for both real-time and batch workloads using APIs, messaging, sFTP, and file-based exchanges (JSON, XML, CSV). Define non-functional requirements and SLAs for APIs and integrations—availability, latency, throughput, error budgets, RTO/RPO—and ensure designs meet or exceed them.
**AI & Intelligent Automation**: Identify and prioritize AI opportunities within API and integration flows (data enrichment, anomaly detection, routing, summarization, classification). Define safe and governed AI usage within APIs and integrations, including input/output contracts, guardrails, handling of sensitive data (PII/financial/HR), and monitoring for model performance and drift. Integrate with AI platforms and services using strong API design and security practices.
**Technical Leadership & Governance**: Provide technical leadership to integration and API engineers through solutioning, design reviews, code reviews, and mentoring. Define and enforce API governance standards. Drive observability and reliability by standardizing logging, tracing, metrics, dashboards, and alerting. Partner with security, compliance, and audit teams to ensure integrations and APIs meet security, privacy, and regulatory requirements.
**Platform & Tools**: Primarily leverage MuleSoft Anypoint Platform (or similar iPaaS) for API-led connectivity. Implement and manage REST/SOAP APIs, webhooks, and messaging interfaces from conceptual design through deployment and lifecycle management.
This role requires hands-on technical expertise combined with the ability to mentor engineers, shape organizational standards, and collaborate with senior stakeholders across business, security, data, and IT teams.
