Anduril Industries, a defense technology company, is seeking a Senior Integrated Power Systems Engineer to design, develop, and deliver robust, efficient, and mission-critical power solutions for its expanding maritime portfolio. This is a hands-on role focused on pioneering the power backbone for autonomous systems that operate in the harshest environments.
You will be responsible for assembling, installing, and integrating power system components including power generation, energy storage, power conversion, and distribution into new and existing product lines. Your work will involve building, testing, and calibrating power electronics modules such as DC-DC converters, AC-DC rectifiers, and inverters, verifying performance against specifications and documenting results.
Key responsibilities include assisting engineers in setting up and testing power management systems, verifying functionality, collecting data, and troubleshooting hardware related to dynamic power allocation and fault detection. You will install, test, and troubleshoot cooling solutions for high-power components including batteries, power electronics, and motors. The role requires performing electrical and mechanical integration of power systems with motors, sensors, computing units, and communication systems, verifying correct wiring, connections, and basic functionality.
Additional duties include designing and commissioning control systems (PLCs, SCADA, HMI) that manage power distribution, tuning variable frequency drives and motor parameters for peak performance and energy efficiency, and integrating electric motors with drive electronics and mechanical components. You will execute detailed test plans for performance, safety, and reliability across various environmental conditions, set up test equipment for EMI/EMC pre-compliance and full compliance testing, and adhere strictly to safety protocols and military specifications.
You will collaborate effectively with mechanical, electrical, and firmware engineers, as well as production teams, providing hands-on support, feedback on build processes, and testing data. The Maritime Manufacturing Technology Team is responsible for rapidly developing and implementing manufacturing technologies, processes, and materials for cutting-edge defense hardware, including deployable surfaces, undersea and sea-to-air vehicles, and scaling these products in new manufacturing facilities.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Associate's degree in Electrical Technology, Electronics, or related technical field, OR equivalent practical experience and certifications
- 7+ years of hands-on experience in assembly, testing, and troubleshooting of power electronics and electrical systems
- Functional understanding of common power conversion topologies (buck, boost, flyback) and ability to interpret schematics
- Experience with assembly, testing, and troubleshooting of battery packs and Battery Management Systems (BMS)
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and assembly drawings
- Proficiency with standard test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, and electronic loads
- Experience with data collection and basic analysis of power system performance metrics
- Strong troubleshooting skills for electrical and power systems
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks
- Good communication skills and ability to collaborate with engineering and production teams
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance
- Must be a U.S. Person
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience working with high-voltage and/or high-power electrical systems (kW range)
- Familiarity with advanced semiconductor components (SiC, GaN) used in power electronics
- Experience in the defense, aerospace, or automotive industries
- Basic understanding of how embedded software interacts with hardware in power systems
- Experience assisting with EMI/EMC testing and applying basic mitigation techniques
- Experience with common CAD viewing tools for mechanical or electrical drawings
