Turnkey is building programmable guardrails and infrastructure for the autonomous economy, founded by the team that scaled Coinbase Custody to $100M+ ARR. The company focuses on creating trustless, programmable foundations for secure autonomous systems and crypto asset management.
This Senior Infrastructure Engineer role is not traditional DevOps. You will treat infrastructure as a programming problem, writing production software in Go to automate, scale, and harden security-critical systems.
Key responsibilities:
- Own best practices for production infrastructure management: provisioning, application scaling, configuration management, capacity planning, and monitoring
- Build and maintain Kubernetes infrastructure at scale, along with Terraform-provisioned cloud resources
- Write custom automation and tooling in Go to reduce manual work and eliminate operational risk
- Build infrastructure to manage and deploy applications in secure enclaves
- Design thoughtful deployment processes that reduce software development lifecycle risks
- Improve operations across infrastructure and systems, including deployment, logging, monitoring, and alerting
- Assist in scaling out the engineering team
You will work with a team of experts in cryptography, security, and systems who believe great infrastructure is invisible. The company emphasizes low ego, high agency, and deeply technical problem-solving.
Requirements:
- Strong multi-cloud infrastructure experience, AWS strongly preferred
- Real programming ability in Go; comfortable writing production software, not just scripts or configuration
- Hands-on experience running Kubernetes at scale and managing infrastructure as code with Terraform
- Learning mindset and high agency; the company values how fast you pick things up and ownership over years on paper
- Understanding of modern application architectures with opinions on development and deployment
- Experience working in extremely security-conscious environments
- Based in the US or Canada
- Belief that Web3/cryptocurrency has potential to radically change the world for the better
Style points (nice-to-have):
- Experience with trusted execution environments, secure enclaves, hardware security modules, or attestable compute environments
- Deep understanding of Linux and reducing application surface area
- Expertise in threshold signing systems and production-grade cryptography
- Active tracking of crypto ecosystem developments with informed opinions
