Rivia is a clinical trial intelligence platform that unifies fragmented clinical trial data through a core data engine and AI-driven workflows. The company raised $15M Series A in March 2026 and is backed by Earlybird Venture Capital. As Senior Infrastructure Engineer, you will be Rivia's first dedicated infrastructure hire, owning the complete AWS platform that powers the company's clinical trial data operations. You report directly to the CTO and are embedded in the engineering team. Key responsibilities include: - End-to-end ownership of AWS infrastructure: EKS clusters, RDS, MemoryDB/Redis, S3, DynamoDB, IAM, networking across staging and production - Infrastructure cost optimization and unit economics improvement as customer volume grows - CI/CD pipeline ownership and developer productivity improvements - Kubernetes workload stability and scalability, including services supporting AI features - Identity and secrets management via Keycloak, SSO, and OIDC - Building AI-agent workflows for infrastructure automation (cost audits, security findings, performance analysis) - Supporting external penetration tests and compliance evidence for ISO 27001 and client audits - Documentation and runbook creation to eliminate single points of failure You are expected to work AI-native by default, leveraging AI agents (Claude Code or similar) for real infrastructure work and continuously expanding their capabilities. The role spans broad scope: AWS cost analysis one day, CI/CD troubleshooting the next. You identify root causes and automate solutions so problems don't recur. Ideal candidates have 5+ years hands-on infrastructure/DevOps experience with deep AWS expertise, production Kubernetes operations, and strong software engineering fundamentals (can diagnose and fix application code issues). You should be comfortable as the sole infrastructure specialist, self-directed and proactive. Bonus qualifications include Keycloak operations, Spark/data pipeline infrastructure, regulated environment exposure, and Datadog observability experience.
